The perfect break.

Magistrates have snookered a man by awarding him the perfect break.

Jailed after hearing of his regular bowel habits carried out at Todmorden Health Centre. Raymond Woods, 56, used the toilets over a two month period leaving faeces on the floor. Woods, of no fixed abode and with 147 previous convictions, admitted breaching an anti-social behavior order.

He was jailed for 17 weeks and Calderdale magistrates imposed a five year ASBO starting from his release. The conditions include not entering the health centre unless he has a pre-arranged appointment and not drinking alcohol in a public place in Calderdale.

Clare Benson, prosecuting, said Woods left mess and faeces and when staff would no longer clean-up after him the toilets were locked and the public had to ask staff for a key. “On July 20 the defendant found them locked and stood in the waiting room saying `shall I crap on the floor`,” said Miss Benson.

When he started to take his trousers down a member of staff unlocked the toilet door. He then realised his cider had been taken and started shouting and swearing at staff and patients. Woods told police he could not remember the incident and had drunk nine litres of strong cider.

Asamh Khalid, mitigating, said her client accepted what he had done. “He does have a record - 147 convictions,” she said.

Looking at the state of one or two CART Sanitary Stations that we have come across on our travels. I am wondering if Woods has a watermate key?

The Big One (21-6)

Tuesday 4th September 2012

Castleford Cut.

The sunset was quite remarkable last night. But it was a close run thing with the sunrise this morning.

A full day for me as I had to do a few chores which needed a trip to Sheffield to complete. A bit of running around in the car followed by a relaxing trip back to Sunny Castleford on Sea. This was completed free of charge by travelling on  Northern Rail. Because we live in the old "Peoples Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire" we can also use our bus passes on the railways as well. "Power to the People!!!"

We had an early start by calling into "The Griffin" pub, which is a popular boaters watering hole. Whilst enjoying a flagon of amber nectar we ordered an Indian take-away to be delivered.

Another quiet relaxing day!

The Big One (21-5)

Monday 3rd September 2012

Sunny Castleford.

Another sunny day to be enjoyed - so I cleaned and polished the mushrooms vents again. The stern greaser was empty and so I had the messy job of filling up the container.

I also planned to do a bit of boat touch-up painting, but a short sharp shower put paid to that. So I was at a loss for something to do. So I went fishing off the mooring. However as I hold the opinion that fishing is a blood sport, I was using my magnet on a rope.

Catch of the day: Three metric sockets. One exhaust silencer. Two screwdrivers. About twenty coach bolts. A fireside set, well two parts of it. Two coal "hand" shovels. One with the label still attached. A rotary washing line holder. Hundreds of screws and nails. A length of stove pipe. A multi-spanner. A grill pan and various bits of unidentified metal.

The sunset tonight was very fiery and as the saying goes red sky at night....

Here is the sunset over Castleford Cut.

Caption Competition

The September Caption Competition.

The caption competition is intended for you to be able to display your prowess at providing a pithy and witty caption. One that has a watery theme to it.
This months judging panel consists of CART treasurer's assistant Owen Cash, Author Warren Peace, Entrepreneur Ty Coon, CART Ecologist Teresa Green, Dominatrix Tanya Hyde, Cook Sue Flay, Seymour Bush gynaecologist, Seymour Butz proctologist, Seymour Wiener urologist, Skipper Rowan Boat and with a gold medallist achievement in procrastination Tony Hales.

The caption below the picture is our feeble attempt at humour but does not count for the competition.

I see the porta-potty is full again!

There are no prizes as the Blog Meister is a cheapskate and tight fisted old curmudgeon. But you will reluctantly get a mention in the captains blog. You can submit your entry on the back of a ten pound note, two five pound notes or by using the comments feature below. (now we will find out who the cheapskates are)

My Indecision Is Final.

The August competition was won by Mags with

The Big One (21-4)

Sunday 2nd September 2012

Castleford.

A quiet day enjoying the sunshine. We had a short walk across the fields to Allerton Bywater to visit the "Boat" pub for a Sunday carvery. Good food and portion control was not in evidence.

We moved the boat away from the noisy boat and their late night boom box leisure listening. One of the locals pointed out that what we had encountered was a regular weekend event. The boom box is used to mask the noise of the engine which they liked to run late into the night.
