Blog of the Month 2010

Previous "Blog of The Month" blogs and websites that I personally
enjoy reading, revisiting and sometimes contributing as well.

January 2010.

Anna Racoon The ‘Anna Raccoon’ blog is owned by Susanne Cameron-Blackie, who writes as ‘Anna’. Occasionally aided and abetted by writers as diverse as Matt Wardman, Gildas the Monk, SadButMadLad, and Thaddeus J Wilson. Each writer has their separate interests but they share a sense of humour, and a belief that the commentators are the important factor – the authors are there to start the conversation, not dominate it. They are oft referred to as the ‘bar staff’ at the ‘Raccoon Arms’. Ms Raccoon may be addressed as ‘The Landlady’ or ‘She Who Must Be Obeyed’, whichever you prefer.

Anonymong Blind in one ear and deaf in one eye.

February 2010.

Autonomous Mind This blog is written solely by the blogger ‘Autonomous Mind’, a free thinking soul writing about politics and government, the media, climate change, democracy, liberty and the EU. I know better than the government what is best for me. I am frustrated at our high taxes, overbearing bureaucracy and interference in our lives. I am angry at the scandalous waste of taxpayers’ money, having to continually paying more in order to receive less, the destruction of our economic strength, the corruption of British values and the undermining of our social cohesion. I’m tired of the dishonesty and distortions of our political class and their appointees, and a biased media that instead of helping to hold the politicians to account sits with them as part of the ruling establishment and regurgitates their self serving nonsense. But I have no time for the hate filled individuals who reside in the extremist sewer of identity and racial politics.
March 2010.

Bishop Hill is the website of Andrew Montford - author, pamphleteer, and one of the UK's best-known critics of the so-called global warming consensus. He has appeared many times on radio and TV and has written for publications as diverse as the National Post and the Times Higher Educational Supplement. A native of Surrey, he has lived for more than twenty years in Scotland.

Calling England "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

April 2010.

Captain Ranty Here there be rants. There will be Freeman stuff, Lawful Rebellion stuff and Random stuff. I am rebelling because I want my country back. My lawful obligations are as follows: “together with the community of the whole realm, distrain and distress us in all possible ways, namely, by seizing our castles, lands, possessions, and in any other way they can, until redress has been obtained as they see fit…” Article 61 Magna Carta 1215

Nannying Tyrants (formerly Citizens United against Nannying Tyrants) is a blog owned and maintained by Jay. This blogs focuses on civil liberties and rights, which adults are losing thanks to neo-puritanical technocrats in Parliament and government-sponsored nanny organisations like ASH, Fresh, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation, British Medical Association, and numerous others.

May 2010.

Climate Change Dispatch (CCD) is dedicated to debunking, reviewing, and responding to the shrill cries of the media and the global warming zealots who have embraced anthropogenic global warming (AGW) as an eco-religion and not as a scientific endeavour for answers. This site does not dispute that global temperatures have increased, on average less than 1°C, over the past 100 years. What CCD does seek to do is repudiate the consensus that the cause is man-made and the principal culprit is CO2, through facts, articles, and other sources not readily available by the mainstream media.

The Daily Mash is an irreverent piss take of the modern world.

June 2010.

England Expects When those who are elected to that far away place, the European Parliament, time rests heavily on their hands. They twiddle their fingers and try to find ways to become famous on their own parent's breakfast table.

English Pensioner I am absolutely against Britain being a member of the E.U., and believe that whilst climate change may be taking place, there is absolutely no proof that it is man-made. For these two reasons, I am unable to support the present day Conservative Party.

July 2010.

EU Referendum When we started this blog, I became an enthusiastic convert within days if not hours. We decided to call it EUReferendum as that was the most pressing issue on the eurosceptic front. When the referendum is over, whichever way it goes, we shall probably have to rename it. Even if we win that particular battle the war will not be over.

Guy Fawkes Guido’s blog was started in September 2004. The choice of the Guido avatar and character was deliberate, the thinking being that Guy Fawkes had great name recognition, a memorable “brand” and a great reputation as the only man to enter parliament with honest intentions.

August 2010.

Ian PJ Ian is a vocal advocate of small government, individual freedom, low taxation and a minimum of regulation. Ian believes deeply and passionately in freedom and independence in all areas of life, and is now bringing his professional experiences to bear in the world of politics.

September 2010.

Longrider. As you will see, there is a focus on civil liberties and you may detect an underlying rage at the affront on those liberties over the 13 years that New Labour was in power. This is all the more galling for me as I once belonged to the party and believed in its principles. Be assured, that is no longer the case. All that said, there is also an underlying dry humour. Some people miss it. It was once pointed out by a colleague that my humour isn't so much dry, as arid. So, if you miss it, that’s probably why.

October 2010.

Nanny Knows Best Dedicated to exposing, and resisting, the all pervasive nanny state that is corroding the way of life and the freedom of the people of Britain.

November 2010.

No Tricks Zone As a boy I had a strong interest in meteorology and even dreamed of becoming one for a time. I often read the weather charts and had interest in extreme weather events. I can recall many extreme weather events occurring. That’s why I think what’s happening today is nothing unusual. In fact, if the media stopped hyping it up, most people wouldn’t even notice climate change.

December 2010.

Not a Sheep I am not a sheep, I have my own mind. I have had enough of being told what and how to think. Whilst we are still allowed the remnants of free speech I will speak out.
