Summer Cruise 2013 (38)

Eastwood moorings to Ickles Lock Moorings.

Showers of rain overnight. The wind has picked up and so we are sitting it out for a while.

Morning: The cloud cover kept the temperature down and the wind had slowly died off. Spent time cutting up a large pallet to make a few large bags of fire kindling.

Afternoon: 4pm and we set off. A slow gentle cruise to Rotherham Town Lock. Mags went to Lidl and I prepared the lock. I don't know what it is about the town lock but it is always full or rubbish. Soon we were on our way to Ickles Lock, which is one of the most fierce locks when the paddles are only cracked open a small amount.

Evening: We moored for the night above Ickles Lock and we could see that the building of the clubhouse at Rotherham Marina had moved on quite a bit.

Wildlife: Dozens of long tailed tits and a handful of four spot chasers.
