Overnight the weather was heavy rain.
Morning: Heavy rain delayed our departure. Stopped at Stoke Bruerne bottom lock and took on fuel from 'Jules Fuels'. The first lock was set ready with a boater waiting for us. After the lock was filled, there was so much water over topping down the flight that we had to open the gate paddles to stop the pound flooding the towpath.
Afternoon: The rest of the flight had boats coming down so the locks and gates were set we just had to swap over in the pounds. Soon we were clear of the locks and heading into Blisworth tunnel. We passed three boats in the tunnel coming the other way. We decided to run the washing machine and after the first load we took on water. At Weedon we moored up to do some shopping and hung the washing out to dry.
Evening: Hanging out washing was a temptation for the rain god. So it was time to dry indoors so I lit the stove. We spent the evening watching TV.
