You may have read in the past my thoughts on the situation at Tinsley Marina. Things seemed to have settled prior to our departure on our spring-summer-autumn cruise. By way of understanding it might be advantageous if you were to read my previous observations made back in August of 2011.

As we have recently returned back to the marina, there has been much news for us to catch up on. We have been away from the marina for about seven months. I have met a few people on site who have brought me up to date. I had hoped that the situation would have significantly improved. However it would seem that much of the discord has exacerbated in our absence.
Confrontation with threats of violence have been made by one boater against another. These threats have resulted in the police being involved. A boater has also been involved in a form of on site fly tipping of chemical materials and containers which the local authorities have understandably taken a very dim view. Yet again, a number of mature trees on site have been chopped down so that a boater can get satellite TV on their boat. Others marina patrons have felt bullied by a whispering campaign to the point where they have now left the marina. Some boat owners have been visiting places where other marina boat owners have moored previously in a dirt digging exercise. On the basis of this "fact finding exercise" spurious allegations have been bandied around willy nilly which have absolutely no basis whatsoever. The contents of a chemical toilet have been thrown on someone elses property.
Yes, the bullying and petty nit picking situation still continues to thrive and British Waterways now CART have continued to have no real involvement in seeking a remedy. Comments from managers when issues are raised such as "We are not Social Workers" does little to instill any confidence. Can you imagine a school teacher saying the same thing about a bullied child. In fact such comments actually create a significant amount of animosity. Complainants feel that they have now been marginalised by CART and their complaints have not been given due credence. So what started out as an itch has been continually scratched into a festering wound.
I still say that all sides involved within these issues have to get around the table. Both sides need to listen and accept that there is an alternative viewpoint. Take on board all the irritants and issues and be prepared to accept compromise as the way forward. What can't be settled should be agreed to disagree and accept the majority view.

I have created a poll that will run between now and the 1st of January 2013. It's not very scientific. Its a simple question "Will CART Succeed". You have three choices Yes, Unsure and No. Now you can vote for one of the three choices. If you change your mind before the poll closing date. You can come back and change your vote. (I wish we could do that for politicians) You will find the poll option on the right hand side just below the members pictures.
Later...
