Royston Vasey to Nantwich.
Today we are under way once more. We will be off mains power and back onto the leisure battery bank. Being on a shoreline every couple of weeks (while we do the washing) also lets the Victron do an equalising charge on the battery bank.
The weather lived up to the weather report for a change. Broken cloud and plenty of sunshine. We had to have frequent drinks due to the heat in the afternoon!
I find it surprising that the solar panels continue to push some current into the battery bank when we are on mains power. This is because the cut off point for the battery charger is at 13.8 volts and the cut off point for the solar panel controller is 14.2 volts.
The domestic washing was all done last night. Being on a roll, the Memsahib then turned her hand to the interior with a mini-spring clean. I took on the difficult job of taking the dogs for a walk along the towpath. It's curios how certain jobs fall into different remits. Barbecue is for men as is washing the pots and pans. It's not an easy job and someone has it to do.
I spotted several Narrow-Boat bloggers on the Shroppie today. The first was Nb Xilion Rose, the second was Nb Sanity Again and the third was Al on Nb Buggerlugs, I managed to have a quick word as we passed. Last was Nb Chance. By the time we stopped and tied the ropes in Nantwich. There were twenty two locks and eleven miles under the keel.
Wildlife: This part of the Shroppie is Buzzard Alley. We saw four and heard others. A few other birds such as Chaffinch and we saw young Swallows being fed on as they sat waiting or telephone wires.
