Spring Summer Cruse 2015 ❼

Sawley Marina  to Wragley Boat Stop

Overnight the weather was strong wind and heavy rain - typical summer weather.

Morning: We held back for some time hoping that the wind would abate and the rain ease of a little. A late breakfast until we started preparations to move at noon.

Afternoon:  Very windy made maneuvering problematical. Most of the lock were set against us. One lock the landings at each side were filled with CaRT work boats. Only a couple of hire boats on the move.

Evening: Out for a meal in the Ragley Boat Stop.

Wildlife:

Birds: Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Goldfinch, Chiffchaff, Chaffinch, Coot, Waterhen, Cormorant,  Canadian Goose, Wood Pigeon, Kestrel,  Black Headed Gull, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin, Swift, Pheasant, Tufted Duck the highlight being an Arctic Tern.
