Fazeley Junction.
The weather was so bad that we decided to sit it out. So I did a bit to maintain the boat and the Memsahib went shopping.
On our way out this year on our pilgrimage to the canals, we came across Spider T (Humber super sloop, built at Warren’s Shipyard, New Holland) moored at Keadby Lock. Located at the end of the South Yorkshire Navigation and the River Trent. I remember thinking at the time. I could just stow away for the trip down to the Thames.
Part of our pilgrimage to the canals was to cruise down to Boston. We moored next door to Angell Hardy II who left a couple of days later to do the coastal route down to the Thames again to join in with the pageant. No vacancies for a cabin boy were available! So near and so far.
