The Big One (23-4)

Sunday the 16th of September 2012

Dallamires Lane Footbridge.

A late start to the day after a typical Sunday morning breakfast. We are not moving today as the weather is predicted on the weather forecast to be heavy rain. One boat came up the canal and stopped on the sanitary station to empty rubbish bags into the skip. They then moved on up the canal to the basin.

Whilst taking the dogs out for a walk we spotted a car boot sale about to start on Ripon racecourse. We had a walk around the site and I purchased at the princely sum of £3 a small pump action grease gun for the occasional use on Rosie.

A walk into Ripon for a late Sunday lunch found us at "The Water Rat" the menu was a bit limited as the business was in the process of recovering from the aftermath of a recent fire. There was still plenty of customers and the food was surprisingly good.

A day for reading and relaxing. Whilst I was relaxing my eyes, the boat on its way to the basin returned back down the canal. It seems that I missed its passing.
