Mosquito Trap

Home made Mosquito trap for those outdoor evenings....

Use an empty plastic bottle. Remove the screw top. Then cut the top off the plastic bottle.  Save the top of the bootle to use later.

Add a table spoon full of sugar into the bottle. Then add a cup of just warm water. Not to warm as it will kill the yeast. Then add a teaspoon of brewing yeast.  This will start to ferment - producing CO2 carbon dioxide - which like your breath is what attracts mosquitoes. Now they will be attracted to the trap.

Invert the top of the bottle to make a funnel and place inside the bottom half of the bottle. Once attracted, the mozzies then fall through the funnel inside the bottle. This can make an evening spent out on the back of the boat, a much more pleasant experience.
