Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❻❺

Fradley Junction to Shobnall

Overnight the weather was quite cold with the odd showers of light rain.

Morning: Early start and breakfast taken on the move. A few boats coming the other way meant a few locks were set for us. Met Graham Taylor the ex England Football manager on the towpath at Bagnall Lock. Seems he takes his dogs for a walk there from time to time.

Afternoon: Found a bywash that was flooding the towpath after the attentions of a couple of CaRT employees. Reported the matter to CaRT Customer Services as the CaRT people cleaning the bywash had cleared off.

Evening: Television watching and then an early night.

Wildlife:
Birds: House Sparrow, Tree Sparrow, Carrion Crow, Rook, Starling, Mallard, Mute Swan,  Robin, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Waterhen, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Black Headed Gull, Swallow, House Martin the highlight being a Green Woodpecker.
