Rishton Bridge to Wigan Top Lock Moorings.
Day 20.
An early start again from Rishton Bridge moorings. The character of the canal changes as you approach Blackburn. In this area the canal is full of rubbish of every description. Televisions, settee, doors and trolleys abound in this section.
Weather had improved in the afternoon and even the sun put in an appearance. As did several species of Dragonfly. Including Damselfly, Four Spot Chaser and even several Emperor Dragonflies.
The six Blackburn locks passed without any problem other than the amount of trash floating in the locks. The seven Johnson's locks passed without any problem and were much cleaner..
