Spring Summer Cruse 2015 ❺❼

Kennet Mouth to Boulton Lock Moorings.

Date 19 Aug 2015

Overnight the weather cool and overcast.

Morning: Early start so Poppy was given a good run on the nearby park. This was followed by a good breakfast. Under-way by 9:00. A few boats on the move. The weather was quite good with broken cloud and some sunshine.

Afternoon: Just after lunch the weather started to deteriorate and so we pushed on rather than stop to eat.  We were sharing locks for most of the way. Found a good mooring for the night just before the weather closed in and the rain started just after we moored up!

Evening:  Early evening the rain set in so a couple of beers and a bit of television provided the entertainment.

Wildlife:

Birds: Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Mallard, Mute Swan, Coot, Moorhen, Cormorant, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Green Shank, Buzzard, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull, Swallow, House Martin and Green Woodpecker. Today's oddities were a large group of Parakeets!

Butterflies: Meadow Brown.
