Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❷❻

Fiskerton Wharf to Gunthorpe VM

Overnight weather was warm and muggy, the morning was overcast with a threat of rain to come.

Morning: Dogs walked and a few purchased essentials, before a leisurely cruise to Hazelford Lock. 

Afternoon: Just after noon, we arrived at Gunthorpe Lock. Just after mooring up, the rain arrived with a half hour deluge!


Evening: Quiet night in with the TV.

Wildlife:

Birds: House Sparrow, Carrion Crow, Rook, Magpie, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Cormorant, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Tufted Duck, Coot, Waterhen, Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Kestrel, Chaffinch, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Lapwing, Skylark, Cuckoo, Common Tern, Arctic Tern, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin, Sand Martin, Swift, Buzzard, Thrush, Oyster Catcher and Egyptian Goose the highlight being a daytime Barn Owl.
