Spring Summer Cruse 2015 ❶❶

Branson to Alrewas

Date16 May 2015

Overnight the weather was overcast an the wind was light.

Morning: A latish start after cooking a good breakfast. Another day single handing the boat. Need diesel tank topping up. Call in at Barton Turns Marina 75p 111 litres purchased. The towpath yard near the entrance to Barton Turns has closed for business. From the look of the weeds round the gate its been closed for a while. Used to be about 2p cheaper the Barton Turns.

Afternoon: Followed a hire boat for a few locks. Though I was single handed, I was easily keeping up. On arriving at Alrewas lock seeing the hire boat depart the lock. Who tried to drain the lock before noticing a paddle was still up. Doh!

Evening: Thought I might go to the George in Alrewas for a meal - but made an omelette instead and settled down with the penultimate week of 14/15 premiership football on BBC 1. Please to see Villa get a good kick up the rectum.
