Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❻❻

Shobnall Basin to Willington Winding Hole

Overnight: The weather was slightly overcast. Cold and typical of the autumn.

Morning: Early breakfast and pulled the pins early as well. Beautiful sunshine made for a perfect day to cruise along the Trent and Mersey Canal.

Afternoon: It was time for lunch as we approached Willington. There was plenty of space on the visitor moorings and so we chose one where the solar panels would have the benefit of full sunshine. As the day was so warm, we decided to stay put for the day.

Evening: Enjoyed
a meal out at the Green Man. Time for a treat - so we had fish and chips.

Wildlife:
Birds: House Sparrow, Tree Sparrow, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Robin, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Waterhen, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Black Headed Gull, Swallow and House Martin.

Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Skipper, Comma, Red Admiral.
Bats: Pipistrelle
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly, Common Damselfly, Red Darter, Four Spot Chaser.
