Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❻❸



Taverners Bridge 40 to Fazeley Junction

Overnight the weather was overcast and cold.

Morning: Early stare soon had us filling up at the waterpoint at the top of the Atherstone Flight. We quickly descended the locks meeting only two boats coming our way so most of the locks were set against us. With two locks to go we caught up and passed the two amigos.

Afternoon: Stopped for lunch for an hour before setting off once more. With only two locks to Fazeley Junction

Evening: All moored up together again. Television then out for a meal.

Wildlife:

Birds: House Sparrow, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Robin, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Waterhen, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Buzzard, Black Headed Gull, Swallow, House Martin.

Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Skipper,  Red Admiral and Comma.
Bats: Pipistrelle, 
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly, Common Damselfly,  Four Spot Chaser and Red Darter,
