Bardney Lock Visitor Moorings to Lincoln.
Cold and overcast with a heavy mist. What a change from yesterday. After all the washing we had to fill up with water at the Bardney Sanitary Station before making our way towards Lincoln. There are large rafts of weed building along the river and just below Stamp End lock it was almost from one bank to the other.
For a large section of the journey we had eight swans playing a version of leap frog along the river. Each time we caught up they would fly a short distance and settle on the water again.
Later, the sun broke through and the temperature increased quite quickly. The rest of the day continued quite warm. We stopped just before the Glory Hole and did a bit of essential shopping. We moved on when a few twenty four hour drinkers started throwing empties bottles in our direction.
More shopping was on the agenda, however this time we purchased a 3kw generator so that we can run the washer wherever we happen to be. Fresh Bread and a selection of fruit and vegetables were also on the list. We had to use a supermarket trolley to transport the generator to the boat. However, we did return the trolley back to the supermarket.
Wildlife: Oyster catcher, Kestrel, and the first Swan cygnets of the season.
