Date 16 Aug 2015
Overnight the weather was slightly overcast and cold.
Morning: A late start as we went to say goodbye to our friends who were retracing their steps and making their way back north. Called in for some extra supplies in Kidlington before heading for Oxford.
Afternoon: A steady cruise with short waits at each lock. However at one lock a plastic boat (Down the Hatch) was jammed in the gate as the gate would not fully open. They had just locked up off the river Thames and purchased a licence for a week.
Evening: Settled in early at Aristotle bridge.
Wildlife:
Birds: Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Blackbird, Mallard, Moorhen, Kingfisher, Wood Pigeon, Black Headed Gull, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin and Green Woodpecker the highlight being a Red Kite.
Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Common White, Small White Comma.
