Spring Summer Cruse 2015 ❸❶

Saul Junction to Sharpness Barge Arm.

Date 6 July 2015

Overnight the weather was overcast with showers of rain and colder than it has been recently.

Morning: An early start was decided upon to avoid afternoon rain.  Called to fill up with water as the tank was getting low. A few boats on the move and after the showers started we continued to cruise with the pram hood up!

Afternoon: Steady cruise watching out for the occasional view over towards the river Severn. It was high tide when we arrived at Sharpness, which turned soon after our arrival.

Evening:  Visit to the dock workers club for a beer.


Wildlife:

Birds: Wren, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Jackdaw, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Chiffchaff, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Moorhen, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon,  Collared Dove, Thrush, Greater Black Backed Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull,  Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin, Swift, Pheasant the highlight being a small flock of Gargany.

Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly, Common Damselfly
