Date 13 July 2015
Overnight the weather was overcast with showers of rain.
Morning: A leisurely start saw us under way just before lunch time. The river Severn was at a low level and so the trip up stream should be an easy push.
Afternoon: During the journey up we spotted a lamb chest deep in the mud on the river bank. The mother Ewe was calling to the lamb. The water was to shallow for us to even get near enough to lasso it with a rope. So we had to continue to the nearest moorings.
Evening: No TV signal - time to catch up on a few charity shop DVD's.
Wildlife:
Birds: Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Chiffchaff, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coot, Moorhen, Kingfisher, Great Crested Grebe, Wood Pigeon, Green Shank, Herring Gull, Greater Black Backed Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin and Swift.
Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Comma and Red Admiral.
Bats: Pipistrelle, Daubentons,
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly and Common Damselfly.
