Spring Summer Cruse 2015 ❷❷

Stoke Pound to Netherwich Basin.
Date 18 June 2015

Overnight the weather was overcast and mild.

Morning: Back to what has become the late traditional breakfast when out cruising. Steady cruise with a stop for water at Stoke prior. There few boats seen on the move while cruising up to Hanbury Junction. Passing through the Stoke Locks and the Astwood locks. We found a boat that was adrift Just before Hanbury Junction. However, we were unable to do anything due to the canalside overgrowth. (Reported to the lock keeper at Hanbury three rise locks)

Afternoon:
Turning right onto a waterway which has been restored in the last few years. Which as the name suggests is a wide and narrow canal that can be fully navigated by narrow craft only. The Droitwich Canal is made up of two canals. The Droitwich Barge Canal and the Droitwich Junction Canal. The first set of locks are a three rise which was manned by volunteers and utilised side pounds to save water.

Evening:
Generally its been a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine and just a scattering of fair weather cloud. It felt warm, albeit fresher and less humid than yesterday. But we did 30 locks yesterday so maybe that's why it felt humid!
