The
Road To Ruin – Whoops, I Meant Rouen!
More
Denier than Alive!
Sunday
11th of January 2015.
We were
away again bright and early because we skipped over breakfast.
However, we stopped after an hour or so in a small road side cafe.
Where we had a couple of cups of Spanish style strong coffee watered
down with milk and a couple of savoury breakfast rolls. The rolls
resembled a large Cornish pasty and were full of cheese, ham and
tomato. I even had a second one as they were so good.
The sun
was now blazing down and hitting 25 Celsius so we had to park the car
in the shade to keep the interior cool. At long last we were out of
reach of Rosie's bad weather omen. We exercised Poppy the dog with
the ball for a few moments before even she gave in due to the heat.
Soon we
were back on the road and heading towards the coastal town and port
of Denia. Driving through town we made mental notes of where all the
supermarkets were located. We also noted a Chinese restaurant. Denia
or on the outskirts of the town in La Cella was going to be our home for the next
three months. The luxury apartment included a swimming pool. Located
close to the top of a mountain and overlooking Denia with
breathtaking views out to sea. By way of relaxation we went out for
a meal – and called in at the Chinese place we had spotted earlier.
It seems that Sunday is buffet night and so we stuffed ourselves
silly and also brought a doggies bag of leftovers back for Poppy. We
soon headed for bed.
