Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❸❼

Willington Winding Hole to Shobnal Marina

Overnight the weather was quite warm.

Morning: Bright sunshine soon had the temperature climbing. On our way by 09:30 stopping at the waterpoint at 'Tom's Moorings' to fill up with water.

Afternoon: Stopped for lunch and to do some shopping - then decided to stay for a few days. Spent some time fitting some new rope fenders. Relocated the anchor into the front locker - it could
be quite some time before we need to use the anchor again.
 
Evening: Spent some time in the warm sunshine photographing butterflies. Then the rains started and everything should be fresh by morning.

Wildlife:

Birds: House Sparrow, Dunnock, Wren, Carrion Crow, Rook, Magpie, Pied Wagtail, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Coot, Waterhen, Wood Pigeon, Kestrel, Chiffchaff, Chaffinch, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Common Tern, Arctic Tern, Swallow, House Martin, Swift, Thrush, the highlight being a Pied Flycatcher.

Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Comma, Red Admiral and Orange Tip 
Bats: Pipistrelle
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly, Common Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Red Darter and Four Spot Chaser.
