Spring Cruise 2013 (12)

Thorne Moorend Moorings to Stainforth New Inn

Weather: The first real frost free morning for quite a while. However, the wind picked up after lunch and became quite bitter towards dusk.

We enjoyed a short run today which proved to be quite uneventful. A few dog walkers and kids on bikes along the towpath. By the time we arrived at our destination the wind was making life quite difficult. Luckily the moorings at the New Inn have mooring rings which made the job easier.

Wildlife: The Mallards came round the boat at first light. Their persistent pecking on the sides was making the dogs growl. The dogs persistent growling made me growl too. I must admit to giving careful consideration to adding Duck a l'orange! to the menu.
