Kindle Stuff

Both me and the Memsahib have a Kindle. Its good that a whole library of books can be held in a small device. Leaving more free space on the boat for other items. So if you are like me and the rain is giving you more time for reading. Or if you're looking for some fresh summer reading material for your Kindle, why not try:-

One Hundred Free Books This site delivers new ones to you every hour. Search for specific titles, sort by category, or sign up for the site's email list to get notified when new, completely free Kindle ebooks are available to download, or when best sellers get a price cut worth taking advantage of. Click Here
There are any number of other sites on the Internet where free books for the Kindle can be found. Here are a few that I use.

Free Books Hub is one such place. Click Here
Many Books Net is another where you can browse through the most popular titles, recommendations, or recent reviews. Perhaps you'll find something interesting in the special collections. There are more than 29,000 eBooks available for Kindle, Nook, iPad and most other eReaders, and they're all free!  Click Here
Project Gutenberg offers over 39,000 free ebooks: choose books from amongst  a huge list of free kindle editions. Click Here

The Kindle is a great device, but like all such items you sometimes need to customise them to get the best experience. I like to be able to choose the font that I view a book in. I find some fonts are much easier on the eye than others.
Update Your Kindle. The Kindle is a great reading device but its font selection isn't terrific. If you've been struggling to find a font that works for you, How To Geek has put together a guide to jail-break and install custom fonts on any generation of Kindle. The steps for both jail-breaking your Kindle and installing the new fonts are fairly simple and you'll find guides for both on How To Geek. The end result is that you can customize your Kindle with any True-Type font you want so you can read comfortably no matter what your preference is. Head over to How-To Geek for all the instructions you need. The whole process shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Click Here
