The Big One (14-6)

Friday 6th July 2012.

Gas Street Basin. Shepcote Street Bridge,

You will never guess what happened today - it rained again. Just after midnight it started and has continued unabated all night and seems to be set in for the day. The only boats moving today are the hire boats - as wet and bedraggled holiday makers make their way in the few short days that are available to them. For us, its just another day. We choose to sit out the worst of the weather - be it rain or wind. Choosing the better days to move to our next temporary destination where we will spend some time relaxing and looking around.

We took the dogs out for a walk - Abbey the old dog who is a bit unsteady on her feet managed to fall into the canal again. She sank just under the water surface and then in her own swimming style she started to swim around. I soon hooked her out. One quick shake and she was happily trotting along the canal towpath again. She was totally un-phased by her dip - which is a bit less unconcerned than I was. After her walk it was a quick dip in the shower to get rid of any canal water bugs before she started to lick herself clean.

We had Steph around for dinner aboard Rosie. Then they both went off to do a bit of shopping in Birmingham again. Whilst I watched the Tennis from Wimbledon. The sun is out down south so with a bit of luck it will make its way up here.
