The Big One (9-6)

Friday 1st June 2012

 Newark (Cow Lane Bridge)

The weather over the last couple of days has dampened down our spirits. But last night we perked up and went out for a meal. We visited quite a nice little Indian restaurant where you have to bring your own alcohol. The Castle Indian restaurant is just over the bridge, turn left and its on the left. It is very good on price and quality and comes recommended.

I have been doing some long exposure sunset afterglow photographs. It is almost totally dark when the exposures are made. Here are one or two. I have reduced the size to make them load quicker. Digital photography - however did we manage before!

A late afternoon walk to a couple of the nearby supermarkets and a visit to one of two other shops. Together made a welcome change from dodging the rain showers. The River has been busy today as people start out on their bank holiday long weekend.

The local Swans brought their two Cygnets round for tea. These are amongst our first cygnets of for this year.

In the last week, the solar panels have provided 186ah of charge. Now, that's more like it.

The BW electrician has finally visited the faulty power point. Did not try to fix it, just placed an out of order notice upon it. Which we could have done and saved him a trip. So no change then!
