Keadby Lock to West Stockwith Lock.
I was up at 5:30 again - this time the boats on the Keadby Lock Moorings were catching the 6am tide. We waved goodbye to the crew on Nb Greenham Mist and Nb Annie M as they left for Torksey.
At 08:05 it was our turn lock at Keadby and head upstream to West Stockwith. The wildlife highlights were a pair of Kingfishers and a Redshank.
At 10:05 and just at the high tide point we turned into the Lock at West Stockwith.
We took the dogs for a walk along the canal as far as Misterton. There is a local Co-op Supermarket, a small family Butcher and Chinese takeaway a short distance from the canal. Look for a gate and footpath just before the second bridge after the second lock. Walk to the tee junction. Turn right for the takeaway, left for the butcher and across the road and left for the Co-op.
After our walk it was into the Waterfront Inn for lunch and a pint of lager. Where we met another couple having lunch and their dog Cassie. After a chat we found out that they are interested in joining the boating community. So as we do, we invited them on board Rosie. Cassie was taking no nonsense and gave Poppy a reminder about dog etiquette which was a good lesson for her.

Wildlife: Apart from the birds on the River Trent we also had Robin, Cuckoo, Sedge Warbler, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Greenfinch, Chiffchaff and Mallards with the standard brood of chicks.
Due to the good weather forecast for tomorrow and the dire forecast for the rest of the week. We have decided to take advantage of the weather prediction and move up the Trent to Torksey. The Chesterfield canal will have to wait until our return leg of the trip!
