Overnight the weather was clear and cold. A heavy mist over the water.
Morning: Early start and there were a few other boats on the move. Including an Australian group who were running late getting the boat back to Great Haywood. On the river Cherwell we spotted a group of 6 Buzzards climbing on a thermal. A short distance further along there were a pair of Red Kite doing the same.
Afternoon: Thrupp water point for a much needed refill. A mooring in the Thrupp Boat Club and tea and cakes in Annie's tea shop. Plus a good natter with a few of the locals.
Evening: Television as usual.
Wildlife:
Birds: House Sparrow, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Starling, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Coot, Moorhen, Cormorant, Canadian Goose, Kingfisher, Wood Pigeon, Dove, Kestrel, Buzzard, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin and Green Woodpecker the highlight being a pair of Red Kite.
Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Common White, Green Veined, Brimstone, Small White Skipper, Comma, Tortoiseshell and Peacock.
Bats: Pipistrelle, Daubentons,
Damselfly: Banded Damselfly, Beautiful Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly,
Dragonflies: Ruddy Darter, Four Spot Chaser.
