Bidford to  Gordon Grey Lock

Date 18 July 2015

Overnight the weather was clear and warm.

Morning: Early start so we had an early breakfast. Bidford road bridge was undergoing repair. I understand it was modified by a young 16 year old boy driving a huge tractor. Then we stopped to take on water at Luddington lock.

Afternoon: Steady cruise with a total of five boats seen on the move. Stopped for lunch at Gordon Grey Lock - Then decided to stop for the day.

Evening:  More of the usual television watching before bed.


Wildlife:

Birds: Carrion Crow, Rook, Blackbird, Mallard, Mute Swan, Robin, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Moorhen, Grey Lag Goose, Canadian Goose, Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Kestrel, Buzzard, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Black Headed Gull, Common Tern, Sedge Warbler, Swallow, House Martin, Swift and Pheasant the highlight being a Green Woodpecker .

Butterflies: Meadow Brown, Skipper, Comma.
Bats: Pipistrelle,  Daubentons,
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly, Common Damselfly, Red Darter.
