Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❹⓿

Fradley to Whittington Bridge 78

Overnight the weather was quite mild and the morning brought bright sunshine.

Morning: Filled up the water tank before setting off for the Coventry Canal. Up through the lock at Fradley junction and through the swing bridge and we came across a couple of friends on their narrowboat. We moored up for a coffee and chat.

Afternoon: Finally we managed to set off once again on our journey. The weather continued to be hot and sunny and we met a few boats heading in the other direction. This created a few moments on blind bends. Near Streethay Wharf we met up with a short narrowboat 'XXX Mist' with an outboard motor fitted that was creating a huge breaking  bow wave and engine wash.

Evening: An evening of sunshine and chat with people on the towpath.
