We all know that a dog is a man's best friend - but some dogs go that little bit further. Of all dogs I think it is the guide dogs that are are the most amazing of all.
Black Labrador Jet is one amazing guide dog. When an out-of-control car came hurtling towards guide dog owner Jessica Cowley and her one year old son Jacob, Jet, who has been a guide dog for five years, managed to wrench herself free from the grip of her owner and push Jacob out the way.
Jess had just stepped off the kerb to cross a road on her way back from town one day when her ears were filled with the sound of screeching tyres. The next thing she knew, she had been hit by the car and had been forced to the ground by the impact. On realising what had happened she instantly started calling for her son, terrified as to what could have happened to him.
Remarkably, guide dog Jet had leapt from her harness and pushed Jacob's pram to safety. Both Jessica and Jacob were taken to hospital but only with very minor injuries. Jessica said: "Jet is trained to help me but she's not trained to do that sort of thing. It doesn't bear thinking about what might have happened if she hadn't have done what she did. She was worried about me but once she had licked my face and checked I was conscious she was fine. She loves Jacob and thinks of him as her own. What she did was extremely brave and I am very proud of her."

Give that dog a bone!
