Spring Cruise 2013 (9)

Drakeholes Wharf to West Stockwith Basin

Weather: Not as cold as previous nights but still need to dress up warm. The sun was enjoyable whenever it broke through the clouds.

Approaching Gringley Lock we found a Crack Willow tree blocking the canal. The wind last night had been quite strong. As is our choice, we moored away from trees when the wind is strong. A call to the West Stockwith lock keeper soon had CaRT staff on the job.

Wildlife: A pair of Buzzards, put on a flying display. We surprised a Fox in a canal side field who was stalking the Mallards.
