The Big One (27-1)

Ickles Lock to Tinsley Marina.

Today is the last day of our "The Big One" cruise for 2012. Another early start has us meeting CART lock keeper Derek at Holmes Lock at 9am. Once more the weather was cold and overcast but the wind had lost its cold edge from yesterday. A short distance and we were soon at the bottom of the Tinsley flight ready to ascend.

On arrival the first lock was set for us and we were surprised to find some of our friends at the marina had turned out to bring us home. There was lots of marina news to catch up on. We whizzed up the flight in no time at all.

So our spring into summer and then into the autumn journey, had now come full circle.

  2. Hello Paul and Elaine, thanks for the welcome back to the marina. We are located about 3 miles from the city centre in Sheffield. However we live a few miles to the north in the socialist republic of Barnsley upon sea!

    Make care... Mick n Mags
