Spring Summer Cruise 2014 ❻❷


Nuneaton Bridge 19a to Taveners Bridge No 40

Overnight the weather was overcast and cold.

Morning: Up bright and early quick breakfast and soon underway.  A few boats going the opposite way. Spotted Nb Jannock (CutWeb) moored up. Charity Wharf looking resplendent as usual.

Afternoon: Moored up at Taveners Bridge No 40 for the day. Quite a few ex working boats heading for the Ashby Canal. One pair operated by a single individual. The butty having its tiller tied down centrally.


Evening: A quiet night with the TV.

Wildlife:

Birds: House Sparrow, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Rook, Mallard, Mute Swan, Coot, Waterhen,  Grey Heron, Wood Pigeon, Buzzard, Black Headed Gull, Swallow and House Martin.

Butterflies: Skipper, Comma
Bats:
Dragonflies: Banded Damselfly.
