Summer Cruise 2013 (31)

Goole Dutch Riverside to Sykehouse Junction Moorings. Junction of Aire and Calder (Main Line) and Sheffield and the South Yorkshire New Junction Canal

Morning: Bright sunshine first thing. Moved to the waterpoint and filled the tank before our short cruise retracing our steps of yesterday. The moorings are inundated with flies and so we made a change of plans.

Afternoon: Cloud started to build late afternoon. A quiet afternoon alone on the Sykehouse junction moorings.

Evening: Rain started at 8pm which soon turned into a serious downpour. But it had the effect of freshening up the muggy atmosphere. Later the lightening started. At 9:30 the Humber Princess passed on her way to Rotherham.

Wildlife: Three Arctic Terns.
