Summer Cruise 2013 (25)

Apperley Bridge to Leeds Armouries Moorings.

Even more rain fell overnight and the sky was still overcast by dawn.

Morning: 10am start and we had a single handed boat for company. It was like shelling peas through the swing bridges. But three boats don't fit in a lock.

Afternoon: More of the same, until we reached Oddies Lock. There were a gang of kids leaping into the locks from the foot bridge. They were jumping into the locks as we entered. It was very scary. We tried to divert their attention into helping us to open and shut gates.

Evening: Leeds armouries and a quiet night.

Wildlife: Dragonflies: Brown Hawker, Fourspot Chaser. Damselfly: Emerald damselfly, Banded demoiselle.
