Summer Cruise 2013 (15)

Skipton to Bank Newton Locks

Even more rain fell overnight and the sky was still overcast by dawn. The temperature improved a bit, but the wind was chilling at times. The day improved as the sun broke through.

Morning: A small shopping expedition and disposal of household waste were the tasks before setting off. Steady cruising with no particular problems encountered.

Afternoon: Poppy went swimming at Thorlby Swing Bridge when she slipped off the boat roof. The cry 'dog overboard' soon had everyone coming to her rescue.

Evening: Settled down for a quiet evening with a couple of beers.

Wildlife: Goldfinch and whitethroat were the best observations of the day.
