Summer Cruise 2013 (12)

Silsden Bridge to Skipton Gallows Footbridge

Even more rain fell overnight and the sky was still overcast by dawn. Last night we were treated to a spectacular thunder and lightning storm.

Morning: Off by 9:30 the wind was quite strong and creating difficulties when we moored up at various swing bridges. One swing bridge had a herd of cattle crossing. in half an hour 120 cows crossed the canal.

Afternoon: Met up with friends and moored alongside them on the Skipton visitor moorings. The Yorkshire day celebrations were still going on. A walk round the market and we made a few purchases made. We helped a hire boater had a bike frame wrapped round his prop.

Evening: A few problems finding a TV signal.

Wildlife: A single banded demoiselle was the highlight of the cruise!
