These monies were paid to BW in deals that were often 20 years in length from Utility Providers like BT - Where did the money go . CaRT dont get it ? Thanks for your comment.

The 1995 act specifically places no time limit - It talks about reasonable, and what is reasonable will depend on the circumstances.

I am not sure that CaRT is in a position to decide on what is 'reasonable' for someone's specific medical condition. Maybe that should be left to a qualified medical expert. Someone who could say - how long the treatment may last.

This would otherwise drive a coach and hoses through the eye of the 'Duty of Care' that CaRT owes to all boat licences.

Now, suppose you are living in a house - you are diagnosed with a life threatening situation. Your treatment is under way. Then your local council says - you have to move away - from the source of your essential treatment.

Because that is what CaRT is doing.

Regards

MickMike and Poppyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14252646448078744534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-725926446980545183.post-88470506167602568302016-04-21T13:53:48.684+01:002016-04-21T13:53:48.684+01:00I don't wish to appear harsh, but I don't ...I don't wish to appear harsh, but I don't think the situation is quite as black or white as you portray it. Consider the following:-
A CCr visits a doctor and is told they need a course of treatment that requires weekly visits to the surgery for two months. The boater asks C&RT if they can remain on the towpath mooring, near the surgery, for the duration of the treatment. I think we would all expect C&RT to agree this request. However, what if the treatment was required for 12 months? and would your answer be the same if it was 24 months? Consider this scenario; next to the towpath mooring is a marina, with vacancies. Should C&RT allow the CCr to moor on the towpath for the duration of the treatment or would it be reasonable to expect the boater to pay for a mooring in the marina?

Problems can and do arise which may require a CCr stay longer than 14 days in one location. If these are temporary one would expect C&RT to adapt their policy and be sympathetic to a request to overstay. However if the problem is a long term one then surely it is the responsibility of the CCr to adapt and find somewhere to moor the boat for the duration of the problem.

JohnJohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02269272926588920566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-725926446980545183.post-5211921485981992372015-11-19T04:32:38.097+00:002015-11-19T04:32:38.097+00:00Lol lol lol,,,I haven't been smiling the whole...Lol lol lol,,,I haven't been smiling the whole day. Thanks be to you.Moving forward, wash day was such a different day.I also remember singing "Rain rain, please go away,Come back, another day" almost every Friday during autumn.Friday was our wash day.Washing machines came in handy.I wonder how life would be without them in the present times.

Wilfred Andrews @ LB Plumbing and HeatingWilfred Andrewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02748478781385142557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-725926446980545183.post-11902061935822998212015-11-07T16:29:22.601+00:002015-11-07T16:29:22.601+00:00A very interesting article which sums up philistin...A very interesting article which sums up philistines very well... thank you Michael for that…. yet Art has moved on from pictures together with whether they are painted rather well. Fine upstanding Sculptures fashionably created by well known sculptors. Yes they still have a place in society, the portrait painters, landscape painters who really just want to paint a pretty picture.

Contemporary Fine Art has taken one step further to encapsulate, to engage with a subject or experience, thus engaging with science, technology, to create a formation of discovery.

Take for example this photograph: what does it mean to you? A pile of old shoes… ‘Oh Eck what Rubbish…’ People said. It looks like a pile of a load of old shoes, this is the artists symbolic interpretation of the holocaust. It says a lot about Contemporary fine art and what it means today – to give another example for instance : take sound, did you know that … Mike Oldfield’s Tubular bells was a recording of what it feels like to have schizophrenia which was at that time not treatable.

So the birds, the swing is the artists interpretation of his own study, which is then left to the artist as to whether he wants to explain it or not. As a university under graduate : you would be required at the end of a semester to present your work, then to give a talk about it, about the provenance of how the work was made, with inspirations and ideas which inspired you. Experience, historical facts, for example… with a final example of Nick Parks who was also a graduate of Hallam University… with his cartoon characters of Shaun the Sheep… which gives you the insight to human behaviour.

That my sweet friends (no sniggering at the back) is a small introduction to why you don’t snigger at work created by people who are quite often described as loonies. You can go back to sniggering if you like but take a hanky with you. There are some good art works out there which came from humble beginnings.

Lesley
otherwise known as Madame CholetAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14455282510962102310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-725926446980545183.post-63880011246905238862015-09-16T20:25:15.351+01:002015-09-16T20:25:15.351+01:00Jeremy Corbin has so far alienated: the Jewish com...Jeremy Corbin has so far alienated: the Jewish community, the N Ireland protestants, royalist supporters and probably every service and ex-service family in the nation. At least this way just over 3.5 miles of canal are dredged for only 39% of the full cost.

I don't know how close this section of the canal is to being opened, but by dredging it now (and getting the majority of the cost paid by others) it is something that will not have to be paid for when the canal is eventually opened (assuming that is before it silts up again).

JohnJohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02269272926588920566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-725926446980545183.post-4926674428102041282015-01-09T08:34:37.694+00:002015-01-09T08:34:37.694+00:00More details!
